Sayaka & Kenji
Hello, we're Kenji （健二👨） and Sayaka（明夏👩）, a couple passionate about baking!
Our adventure began in Paris, where Kenji honed his craft as a sous-chef under Christophe Vasseur at the renowned bakery Du Pain et des Idées, while Sayaka pursued a Master's degree in translation. United by our shared love of French culinary culture, we got married and made our dream come true: opening our own bakery in Japan.
In 2016, Boulangerie Comète was born in Tokyo. For seven and a half years, we had the privilege of delighting an incredible clientele. But faced with the challenges of urban development, we had to turn the page... to write a new one!
Today, we're in Montréal, ready to take on an exciting new challenge and share our know-how and passion with you. As the French expression that inspires us puts it so well: « Tirer des plans sur la comète » — to dream big and dare. And we're more than ready to do just that, here! See you soon!
